Code: Faye! Faye, dear, could you get a wheelchair or something and take Jeremy to a vacant room? Do you guys have wheelchairs around here? Or rooms, for that matter? For some reason I suddenly feel like the decor of this entire building resembles a hospital way too much...
Code walked out of the study walking calmly and swinging his arms in large, slow, dramatic motions, almost as if he meant to be dancing.
Faye: Are you drunk?
Code: Not quite, dear, not quite.
Faye stopped by the entrance to the study, gasping and glancing at Code with censor before walking inside and conjuring an invisible hammock to lay Jeremy on. Alice came walking from the other side of the corridor, flipping through papers fixed on a clipboard.
Alice: Why do you sound like Maxwell when you get drunk? The accent, the way you move, ugh.
Code: Now that would be because Maxwell is the true impersonation of what a drunk vampire looks like. It's not an easy task to get a vampire drunk, you know? We're awfully tough. That's why Maxwell has never stopped drinking since he first started.

Meaning to take the clipboard from her hands to see what she was doing, Code leaned his body forward towards her, and Alice would have kept him from doing that if she didn't get distracted by Faye passing by, followed by an unconscious Jeremy laying on an invisible hammock. As he flipped through the first page, she took the clipboard from him violently.
Alice: What did you do to him?
Code: Just gave him a little scare. It's good for his heart.
Alice: His heart? Oh, Code, you're a horrible person.
Code: I'm a vampire, love. What more could you expect?
Alice: I asked you to teach him things! Not scare the life out of him!
Code: I was teaching! Someone has to teach him the world is scary, don't you think? The world is a ruthless place, you and I both know that. If he is to be taught a thing or two about vampires, the first of them should be that we are the ruthlesser of all.
Alice: That's not even a word.
Code: Do I look like I'm in a state to care about gramaticalisms?
Alice snorted, following Faye with her eyes while she took Jeremy to another room. Leaning against the wall, she crossed her arms and stared at Code with a "what am I going to do with you?" expression.
Code: That's not a word too, is it?
She let out a brief laughter and smiled, and as he saw that he smiled too, content, leaning against the wall beside her, placing his elbow on the wall and resting his head on his hand.
Alice: What did you do to him, anyway? Did you really just scare him unconscious?
Code: I might have frozen his airways for a second there.
Alice: Code!
She slapped his thigh with the clipboard before walking away, stomping. He faked a painful expression and then opened a large, crooked smile.
Code: I did it for science!
